Update (11/14-11/30)

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I cannot recall exactly what each day entailed, but here are the major assignments:

  • Motif in Movies: watch one of three films and complete a super-mini-essay about how the motif in that film helps the audience better understand the theme. (Download as a doc or pdf file.)
  • Two more quotations and accompanying analysis for the VLAMIF project. (See the post for 11-17 to download the VLAMIF assignment sheet.)

Here are the scenes we have completed:

  • Read Devin’s translation: Act I, scene i (witches meet) 13 lines total
  • Translated: Act I, scene ii (battle won; Duncan rewards Macbeth) 78 lines total
  • Translated: Act I, scene iii (Macbeth & Banquo receive prophecy) 175 lines total
  • Read: Act I, scene iv (Malcolm is named successor, Macbeth’s ambition bubbles) 65 lines total
  • Translated: Act I, scene v  (Lady Macbeth prepares for murder) 86 lines total
